Limavady U10s 2 Northend U9s 3 Saturday 25th February 2012
This was a cracker of a match which went to the wire with Northend taking all the points thanks to a fantastic goal by Christy McKillop. Limavady went infront but Northend levelled when Oisin O'Mullan scored with a brilliant header when he came in at the back post to head into the top corner of the net. Northend went infront when they won a free-kick and the quick thinking O'Mullan passed to McKillop who hit a unstoppable shot into the top corner. Limavady drew level when they won a corner and scored when their little midfielder ran onto the ball to blast into the Northend goal just the half-time. Half time score 2-2
The second-half went from one end to the other with both teams playing good football and both keepers had to be on their toes with shots flying in towards their goals hitting crossbars and posts and Finton McQuillan nearly got the winner when he hit a shot from twenty yards and watched it fly towards goal only for the defender on the line to knock it wide. With time ticking away both teams went looking for a winner and what a goal it was that won this match. Caolan McCarroll won the ball in the Limavady half and made his way into the corner and with McCarroll surrounded by Limavady players he some how got the ball to Christie McKillop who held of his marker to curl his shot around all the players in the box and in off the post and into the net just before the final whistle. This was a fantastic team performance by the Blues U9 team who finished runner-up U9 team in the league.

Coleraine Alexander U10s 0 Northend U9s 5 Saturday 18th February 2012
This was Northend's second win in three weeks and again they put in another great performance with Oisin O'Mullan scoring four of the five goals. Again they defeated a team who is a full year older than the Wee Blues.
Northend opened the scoring after four minutes when O'Mullan hit a shot from the edge of the box which flew into the net. He then added number two with a tap in before Christy McKillop got a cracker of a goal when he took a short corner and received it back and struck it first time with his left foot and watched it fly into the corner of the goal just before half-time. Half time score 3-0
Northend were playing some great football and Caolan McCarroll at right back was steady as a rock and the smallest player on the pitch, O'Mullan again added two more goals to extend Northend's grip on this match and take his personal total to four goals in this highly entertaining match.
After a slow start to the League, this team is now entertaining their supporters with the Northend trademark passing and movement game.

Coleraine U10s 5 Northend United U9s 3 Saturday 11th February 2012
Northend U9 team put in a great performance on Saturday morning at Ballysally against the older Coleraine Academy team who earlier this year beat them handsomely.
Northend went in front when Charlie Metrustry shot from just outside the box was to hot to handle for the Coleraine keeper as he could only parry the ball into his net. Christy McKillop then put Northend further in front when he cut in from the left and sent the keeper the wrong way. Coleraine then pulled one back before Ciaran Campbell added a third when he skipped past a few players and coolly slotted into the bottom corner. Coleraine pulled the score level just before half-time with two goals. Half time score 3-3
Northend were playing the better football and could have added more goals but it was Coleraine who scored two more goals to win this great game of football. What an advert for youth football!

Portrush U9s 1 Northend U9s 5 Saturday 4th February 2012
Northend's hard work over the break in the Coleraine and District League paid of with a first class performance from all of the U9 team. Northend fell behind in the tenth minute but came back really strong when Christy McKillop blasted home a free-kick from fifteen yards. Then Callum Kilgore scored the goal of the game when he received the ball at the right-back position and weaved his way past every player in-front of him and hit a unstoppable shot into the Portrush goal to go in at half-time 2-1 up.
Christy McKillop in midfield was having a great game and got his second goal when he won another free-kick and again blasted the ball into the Portrush goal giving the keeper no chance.
McKillop's partner in midfield Oisin O'Mullan then got in on the scoring act to put Northend even further in-front and Charlie Metrustry finished the scoring when he followed up a save by the Portrush keeper to score number five.

Dungiven U10s 2 Northend U9s 5
After a run of two defeats Northend U9's were out to prove that they could hold their own against any team. Northend made a few changes in there line up, with Ciaran Campbell moving out of defence and into midfield and this proved a success with the little man scoring four goals[4].
The first of these came after five minutes after good link up play with Christy McKillop and Caolan McCarroll allowed Campbell to smash his shot home. Dungiven responded straight away to draw level then Northend really dug in with Fiontona McQuillan at the heart of the Wee Blues defence cutting out any Dungiven attack. Beside him in defence, Callum Kilgore had a good game, attacking down the right wing at every opportunity after breaking up play.
Campbell then put Northend in-front when he smartly turned his marker when they took a quick throw-in and blasted into the far corner of the Dungiven net. He then got another two goals, after good link up play from Oisin O'Mullan and Charlie Metrustry. Dungiven pushed Northend hard on a really bad day with the rain pouring down and the wind blowing a gale at Ballysally and Euan McSparran in goal made some great saves to keep Dungiven at bay. As the game went on Dungiven pulled one back before Charlie Metrustry scored a great goal for the Blues, coming in at the far post when Northend won a free-kick to slot home. This goal put United 5-2 up at full-time.
A great team performance from all the boys on such a bad day

Coleraine U9s 4 Northend U9s 0 Saturday 26th November 2011
Northend put in another disappointing performance at Coleraine and should of got something from this game but Coleraine played well as Northend gave the ball away to easy and were made to pay when Coleraine scored from a free-kick in the first-half. Coleraine then added a second just before half-time. Half-Time 2-0
Northend got more into the game but the final pass let them down and Coleraine added two more goals.

Bertie Peacocks U9s 4 Northend U9s 0 Saturday 19th November 2011
Northend's run of good form was undone when them came up against a very strong Peacock team, who punished Northend for their poor passing and lack-lustre performance and it could have been worse if it had not been for the outstanding goalkeeping of Euan McSparran who pulled off a lot of saves to keep Peacock at bay.

Carniny Youths U10s 5 Northend U9s 1 Saturday 12th November 2011
This was a cracker of a game with the two Ballymena teams putting on a great display of football and the only difference between the sides was the finishing of the older Carniny team. Northend fell behind as early as the first minute when White in midfield was to unleash a shot from fifteen yards and with Northend playing into the sun the United keeper did not see it coming until it was too late.
Carniny then added another as Northend tried to find their feet. United got back into the game when Christie McKillop and Oisin O'Mullan linked up well with neat one-two passing, which allowed O'Mullan to create space behind the Carniny defence to pull a goal back for the Wee Blues. With the game going from end to end the defence of Finton McQuillan, Calum Kilgore and Ciaran Campbell were kept busy. However a defensive mistake, allowed Carniny to go further in-front on the stroke of half-time.
The second half was a different half for Northend as they dominated from start to finish. Had it not been for the Carniny goalkeeper, who was their man of the match, the score-line would have been different as he pulled save after save to deny McKillop, O'Mullan and Kilgore and when the keeper was beaten, the post came to Carniny's rescue with a fierce Ciaran Campbell shot shaving the post.
As Northend pushed up they got caught with two late goals, but a great team performance from the very young Northend team who are winning lots of friends with their attractive style of football.

Bertie Peacocks U9s 3 Northend U9s 2 Saturday 5th November 2011
This turned out to be a very tight match with Bertie Peacocks scoring in the last few minutes to snatch victory. Bertie Peacock went in-front after ten minutes from a free-kick, but Northend responded well when Calum Kilgore equalized with a thunderbolt of a shot.
Northend then went in-front when Kyle Sloan scored from close range and they had more chances to go further in-front but Bertie Peacock's defenders got back in time to make some great tackles, leaving the half-time score 2-1 to the Wee Blues.
Northend really did not settle in the second-half but still worked really hard with Finton McQuillion in brilliant form and as time ticked away with Northend in-front Bertie Peacock were to score to two late goals to break the very young Northend teams hearts.
Man of the Match: Finton McQuillion

Ballymoney U9s 2 Northend United U9s 4 Saturday 29th October 2011
These two teams met for the second week in a row and the score was the same as last week but this week was a game of two halves with Ballymoney the better team in the first half and Northend the better in the second half.
Northend raced into the lead when Fionton McQuillion scored straight from their centre when he raced clear to blast home. The game went from end to end with Ballymoney having the best chances but Euan McSparran in goal was proving hard to get pass until Ballymoney's little winger scored a great individual goal and they quickly scored a second just before half-time, leaving the half-time score 2-1 to Ballymoney
Northend started off the second half a different team and drew level when Christy McKillop scored a fantastic goal when he was allowed to turn and volley home and Caolan Mc Carroll was creating havoc in midfield with his amazing skilful runs aided by McQuillion and they went further in front when Calum Kilgore who was having a outstanding game at right back took a short corner and it when it came back to him he hit it first time and on its way in it took a deflection of a Ballymoney player and into the net.
Northend were in control of the game and should have extended their lead even further with McKillop and Metrustry missing good chances.
Northend finished off their scoring when Oisin O'Mullan scored a cracker when Northend won another corner and when the ball came out to him he hit it from fifteen yards and watched it fly into the top corner to give Northend another three points.

Northend United U9s 4 Ballymoney U9s 2 Saturday 22nd October 2011
For the second time this season Northend U9s played a team the same age as them and it turned out to be another cracker of a game. Northend United opeded the scoring when Caolan Mccarroll turned his marker snd drove the ball into the bottom corner of the Ballymoney net. The same player scored his and Northend's second when he linked up well with his midfield partner Christie McKillop and timed his run into the box and again slid the ball into the bottom corner.
Christie McKillop put Northend further ahead when Oisin O'Mullan picked him out from a throw-in, and he controlled the ball well and placed the ball into the bottom corner. Charlie Metrustry finished off the scoring for the Northend Blues, when he timed his run into the box and blasted it past the big Ballymoney keeper, to give Northend a 4-0 lead.
However Ballymoney then scored two crackers to give the match a final scoreline of 4-2 to Northend

Portrush U9s 3 Northend U9s 3 Saturday 15th October 2011
For the first time this season Northend U9s played a team the same age as them and it turned out to be a cracker of a game. The game started pretty even with Northend passing the ball around well and Portrush defending well.
Northend went in-front when they won a corner and Callum Kilgore scored in the goal mouth scramble. Portrush responded quickly and draw level and as the game went from end to end.
Northend had the better chances with Fiontona McQuillan and Christy McKillop both hitting the post and cross-bar then McKillop got the second goal when Caolan McCarroll cut the ball back to him and he controlled it and placed the ball into the bottom corner. Again Portrush drew level when their midfielder won the ball and went unchallenged and was allowed to run a cross there box and pass to the in running striker to score. The score remained 2-2 until half-time.
The game again went from end to end with both teams having chances and both keepers had to be on there toes. Portrush went in-front when their big midfielder took a free-kick and smashed the ball into the top corner giving O'Mullan in goal no chance.
Northend went on the attack and missed some good chances but were careful not to leave there defence open and Ciaran Campbell at the back was always there to clean up. Northend finally got their third goal and it was Christy McKillop who got the all important goal after good work by McCarroll allowed McKillop to skip pass the last defender and place into the bottom corner to leave the final score all level.

Limavady U10s 3 Northend U9s 0 Saturday 8th October 2011
Northend went down to the older Limavady team but they fought right to the end and if it had not been for the Limavady goalkeeper who pulled off a string of saves to keep Northend at bay.
Limavady first two goals came from free-kicks and added another just before half-time. Kieran Campbell at the back was having a great game with his surging runs. Christy McKillop was always a threat and Charlie Metrustry at centre forward, holding the ball up and laying the ball of well, proved best for Northend.
As the game went on Northend forced the Limavady into more saves, but they could not find away pass the Limavady keeper.

Northend United U9s 0 Coleraine U9s 3 Saturday 1st October 2011
What a difference a week makes, with a massive improvement in the U9s performance. Northend dominated this game against Coleraine after early nerves allowed Coleraine to race into a 3-0 lead within ten minutes of the start.
Chance after chance went a begging after this in front of the Coleraine goals, as the Wee Blues ran riot after their poor start.
This was an excellent team performance from the Wee Blues with some outstanding performances from Patrick Ferris and Caolan Lennon

Northend United U9s 0 Coleraine U10s 5 Saturday 24th October 2011
Northend's U9s were up against a very strong Coleraine Academy team at Ballysally on Saturday ,United were holding their own with them getting plenty of the ball but they couldn't hold on to the ball as the older team were bigger and quicker. Coleraine went in front after a great shot from outside the box forcing Jason Robinson into great save but the Coleraine player followed up to put them 1 nil up.
Northend came back at them with Christy McKillop hitting the crossbar but the Coleraine team were too strong and too experienced for the Northend U9s.
Any players who think they are of a good standard and would like to play for Northend's U9 team in the Coleraine and District League should attend training at the following venue and time:-

The young Northend Blues played their first game in the Coleraine and District League on Saturday. Missing a few regulars, this was never going to be an easy game against the older and more experienced Carniny team.
They lost this game but the Wee Blues gave a 100% commitment during the whole game. They battled hard and showed great determination and Manager John Devlin is looking forward to next week's match against Coleraine, when he should have his full panel available to him.
Panel: J Robinson, D King, J Adams, C Lennon, C Martin, C Campbell, O O'Mullan.
